Borderlands Psycho Mask Trial 1

This was a nightmare to make at this scale, measuring only ~4.25" tall, x 3" wide, and consists of 33 pieces of glass, foil and wire work. I definitely stripped the flesh from my fingers, though I was tempted by salting it, I ended up getting acid in the wound instead. 

I am split about how this turned out, I think I added too much detail to it, giving it a bit of a day of the dead kind of feel to it, but maybe that's just me. The main struggle I had at first was just making the design. The actual mask has a lot ridges and features that heavily distorts the flow of the red lines. Then I also made the mistake, when I made the pattern, of not paying close enough attention to the width of some of the pieces, I try not to go under a 1/4", some of these are an 1/8th at best. I did try to eliminate several cuts out of it by using wire and foil work. Next time, I'm only doing a suncatcher size for this, lesson learned #_#
